Using the Juicer

Last night after we had dinner, we pulled out the Jack LaLane Power Juicer and had a juicing party. I'm not sure if I know all of what Doug put in there, but I'll try to remember. You can see how much fruit we used in these two pictures.

We usually keep cutting and peeling until the bowl is filled. He was cutting while I was peeling the citrus fruit.
  • Dole pineapple (Doug says that he read an article about where pineapples come from and which ones are the best. So he prefers Dole pineapples that come from Hawaii. In most grocery stores they're more expensive. But at Costco they're $2.99 each. He also says that you should buy the ones that have the most yellow in them.)
  • apples
  • pears
  • oranges (the ones we got in our Tanaka Farms box)
  • tangerine (from the Tanaka Farms box)
  • lemons
  • limes
  • celery
  • carrots
The juice turned out really good. We'll have enough for a couple of days. He also took the strawberries and blueberries from the Tanaka Farms box and a banana and made us fruit smoothies in our blender this morning. That was a nice treat. We bought our blender at Target a couple of months ago. I'll have a post later on about the green smoothies we've made. And I'll post about our citrus juicer and where we get our citrus fruit. If you've been to Orangeland RV Park to see us, you'll know - right Cheri?
