Our Trip to Tanaka Farms

Doug - picking and eating fresh strawberries from Tanaka Farms
In May, Tanaka Farms who provides our CSA boxes had an open tour of their location in Irvine. They took us out on a trailer pulled by a tractor and gave us a tour of the farm. Our first stop was where they are growing green onions. We got to sample the green onions. The next stop was the area where they grow bok choy. We got another sample. We then went to the area where they grow the carrots. We got a sample there as well. The last stop was where they are growing strawberries. We were allowed to get out and walk through this area, picking and eating all the strawberries we could eat. Our tractor broke down and we were only supposed to be there for 10 minutes. But we had 20 minutes total until a working tractor came to pick us up. So we had lots of time to eat strawberries. Needless to say, the strawberries were so good.
