Homemade EarthTainers for your best tomato crop

Doug's tomatoes back in May

When we left La Crosse, Wisconsin and lost our nice big back yard, Doug wasn't sure how he was going to grow his tomatoes. He found an article about growing tomatoes in containers in the San Luis Obispo Tribune. And so he decided to try it. He has been doing this ever since. Here's a little information for you.

From the following website: http://earthtainer.tomatofest.com/

Each year he plants different types of tomatoes. The first tomatoes that were ready to pick this season are mini orange tomatoes. These are very sweet. We've been eating them right after he picks them, they're that good. Yesterday he finally had some red tomatoes ready. We haven't eaten them yet.

He has two containers this year. The RV park has a limit of six potted plants or he'd do more than that. In the past when we've traveled during the summer we've dragged those containers around every where we went.
